At the King Tut Exhibit

The King Tut Exhibit

We went to see King Tut today. We took the DART from North Dallas to the St Paul station (downtown) and walked a couple of blocks to the museum. It was pretty nasty outside, but at least it wasn't raining. There was this low-hanging fog that gave downtown Dallas a very erry feeling, as if we were way up in the mountains.

We had a reservation to get into the exhibit at 10:00am. We arrived at about 9:45am and found out that we had to check our backpack! Women could carry purses in, but no backpacks allowed. This seemed pretty silly as a lot of the women there had purses that were easily twice as big as my backpack.

On the way into exhibit hall, there was a big sign —No Pictures Allowed — bummer! The exhibit was exceptional, and Sydney was fascinated with everything. Skylar especially liked the pictures and statues of the — you guessed it — horses! Doh!

We ate lunch in the cafeteria and then took the train back to North Dallas. The DART is really cool. Everybody really enjoyed the train ride. Then, it was on to my nephew's house to see my new grandnephew, Davis Paul McWhirter. He's only three weeks old in these pictures and just as cute as he can be.

All in all, it was a great day.

Update 04/28/2008:

Here's a slideshow of the day, including a couple of pictures of dinner, breakfast, and the trip home.

Until next time…
