As you can see by the date stamp on this post, it's 3:30am on Tuesday morning in Austin. It's 11:30pm Monday night in Kauai. This was a longer trip than going to France!

We left Austin at 10:55am on Monday. 2hr 45min to L.A. A 4.5 hour layover in LAX. Then a 5.5 hr flight to Hawaii from there. And, it was on American! I guess I'm spoiled by Continental and Air France, because I thought the two American flights were just terrible. The planes were small, the rows were packed closer together, there was no food unless you purchased it ($10 for a sandwich and a bag of chips!), and there were no pillows or blankets on the Austin-LA leg of the trip. Plus, it cost us $30 to check one bag each!!

Both Continental and Air France still serve food, have more room on the planes and don't charge to check baggage. I'm never flying American again!

Tomorrow is Carolyn's birthday — big stuff planned — so I'd better get some sleep.
